If you know the limitations, and use apache server, php will run smoothly on windows. We use 2 windows server 2003 mirrors to one of our web apps and it runs as good as our unix mirrors.

Johnny, as you must know, some companies disallow deployment of anything but Windows server platforms. It make little sense, but I'd rather have PHP on Windows than not have it at all.

I would rather chew on glass than run PHP on Windows. What a waste of money, not to mention the headache of running a Microsoft webserver.

At least some mobile phone developers are starting to pay attention to CIFS and SMB, like Telexy with their SymSMB 2.00 for Series 60 3rd edition and SymSMB 3.00 for UIQ3.

It allows simultaneous 2(!) directional wireless file sharing between mobile phones and computers (XP, Vista, W2000, W2003, Linux, MAC) using Wi-Fi, 3G or other wireless protocol.

The PHP community who work on Windows appreciate the efforts Microsoft has done to improve support on Windows - especially the FastCGI.

Now for the pedantic semantics argument -

The problem - of course - is that Zend is NOT PHP - they are a company with a stake in PHP that make money off of PHP (as many do) and that are improving their products that use PHP and PHP source. However, it doesn't appear that all the fixes for PHP on Windows are being pushed back to the community.

Remember - Zend Core for Windows Server 2008 isn't the official release of PHP - so let's not be saying that PHP is running on Windows Server, fully certified - because it's Zend Core, not the official PHP ;)
