World of Warcraft does not seem to be able to outpace "open source" related searches on Google. Take a look at:

While WoW runs on Cedega, it looks likes the Codeplex mods would be a pain to use.

I agree with you that it would be nice if the MS-PL permissions that are being applied to gaming mods could also applied to HIV vaccine research. Maybe someday Port 25 can interview someone about why the MSCompBio package is still under the MSR-LA instead of an OSI approved license. For now, it seems like MSCompBio is distributed for the "source available under restricted terms"-community but not yet under the terms widely established among the members of the OSS community.
