&lt;p&gt;As man working with numerous OSes ( including Windows and Linux ), I see other aspects than only ssh to the CLI. Think of tunnels, yes ssh tunnels, one of the big advantages of ssh. So what if I make a successfull ssh to a Windows server and also bind a local port tunneled to this server 3389? Obviously you will get an RDP tunneled through the ssh. And this is only one example. I will leave the others to your creativity and imagination. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Try looking into &amp;#39;help&amp;#39; and especially &amp;#39;net&amp;#39;&lt;/p&gt;
